When we first make contact, we have a short phone chat (15 – 20 minutes) to see if counselling with me feels right for you. If we then decide to work together, we will then arrange a face to face session (subject to both of our availability). At this first face to face session, we’ll discuss how many sessions and what day/time each week they’ll take place. This session (and any subsequent ones) lasts for one hour.
As counselling is a process rather than a one off event, the period of time clients attend varies, depending on individual needs. As a guide, short-term work is usually for 6-8 sessions with the opportunity to attend for longer if you feel you require more support – this is something we discuss at your first session and agree together.
